iOS App Privacy Policy | SANDMARC
This Privacy Policy explains how SANDMARC LLC handles information in the SANDMARC iOS app. The app includes a native camera experience for SANDMARC lens workflows and embedded SANDMARC web pages for shopping, product information, help, and tutorials.
Last updated: May 21, 2026
1 Summary
The native camera features are designed to work primarily on your device. We use device permissions only to provide the camera, photo-saving, location metadata, and leveler features you choose to use.
2 Information Handled by the Native App
The app asks for camera access so you can see a live preview, use manual capture controls, frame shots for SANDMARC lenses, and take photos. Camera access is used for these camera functions only.
The app asks for Photos access to save captures to your Photos library. If you delete a saved capture from the SANDMARC gallery, the app may ask for Photos permission that allows it to delete the related copy from your Photos library. If you do not allow delete access, you can still keep or remove Photos copies yourself in the Apple Photos app.
Location access is optional. If you allow it, the app uses your current location to add place metadata to photos you capture. Location metadata may be embedded in the photo file and stored with that photo in the app's local gallery and your Photos library.
The app uses device motion data to power the camera leveler and alignment tools. Motion data is processed for this feature and is not used to identify you.
The app stores captures, RAW files, thumbnails, preview images, capture metadata, gallery records, camera preferences, and permission-context flags locally on your device. This local data helps the app show your recent captures, preserve selected camera settings, and avoid repeating permission explanations unnecessarily.
3 Information Collected Through SANDMARC Web Pages
The app includes embedded web views that load SANDMARC pages such as Home, Products, Help, and Tutorials. When you browse or shop through those pages, SANDMARC's website may collect the following information.
| Category | What may be collected |
|---|---|
| Device & browser | IP address, browser type, operating system, identifiers, timestamps, referring or exit pages, and page activity |
| Website interaction | Pages or products viewed, links clicked, time spent on pages, and other browsing activity |
| Order information | Name, billing and shipping address, payment information, email address, and phone number when you make or attempt a purchase. SANDMARC does not store credit or debit card numbers. |
| Information you provide | Contact details when you contact support, register, complete surveys, post reviews, enter giveaways, or sign up for communications |
| Third-party services | Information from third parties when you use third-party services to log in, share content, or interact with SANDMARC |
4 Tutorial Videos and Third-Party Services
The app may show SANDMARC tutorial video thumbnails or embedded tutorial videos from YouTube, and may let you open videos on YouTube.
5 How We Use Information
Native app information is used to:
- Provide the camera preview, capture controls, lens-specific framing, and photo capture features
- Save captures, RAW files, thumbnails, previews, and metadata locally and to your Photos library when allowed
- Add optional location metadata to captured photos when you allow location access
- Provide leveler and alignment tools using device motion
- Remember camera settings, feature preferences, and permission-context choices on your device
Information from embedded web pages may be used to:
- Provide and improve SANDMARC web pages, product pages, help content, and ecommerce services
- Process orders, payments, shipping, returns, warranties, and customer support requests
- Screen for risk, fraud, abuse, or security issues
- Understand website performance and customer interactions
- Provide marketing, advertising, and communications where permitted by law and your preferences
6 Sharing
For the native camera features, the app is designed to keep capture files and related local metadata on your device unless you choose to save them to Photos, share them, or interact with other services yourself.
For SANDMARC web pages, SANDMARC may share information with service providers and partners that support the website and ecommerce experience — such as Shopify, analytics providers, advertising partners, payment processors, shipping providers, customer-support tools, and fraud-prevention services. SANDMARC may also disclose information when required by law, to respond to lawful requests, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of SANDMARC, our users, and others.
7 Tracking and Advertising
SANDMARC web pages may use cookies, pixels, advertising identifiers, analytics tools, and advertising partners for measurement, personalisation, retargeting, or interest-based advertising. These practices are described in SANDMARC's website Privacy Policy and may be subject to your browser, device, cookie, and advertising choices.
8 Your Controls
You can control app permissions in iOS Settings:
Disable camera access to prevent the app from using the camera.
Change Photos access to control saving and deletion permissions.
Disable location access to prevent new captures from receiving location metadata from the app.
Disable motion access where iOS provides that control.
You can delete local SANDMARC gallery captures in the app. You can delete photos saved to your Photos library in the Apple Photos app. You can remove all local app settings and data by deleting the app from your device.
9 Retention
Native camera captures, thumbnails, previews, metadata, preferences, and permission-context flags remain on your device until you delete them in the app, delete them from Photos where applicable, or delete the app.
Information collected through SANDMARC web pages is retained according to SANDMARC's website Privacy Policy and applicable legal, tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, ecommerce, warranty, and customer-service requirements.
10 Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, portability, or restriction of certain personal information. You may also have rights to opt out of certain sharing, sales, targeted advertising, or marketing communications.
To make a privacy request about website, order, account, marketing, or customer-support information, contact us at [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity before completing certain requests.
11 Children's Privacy
The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the native camera features. SANDMARC web pages may include ecommerce and support features that should be used only with appropriate consent where required by law.
12 Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organisational measures designed to protect information handled by SANDMARC. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
13 Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the app, SANDMARC web pages, legal requirements, or our privacy practices. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page shows when this policy was last revised.
